March doesn’t provide many astronomical events, however that doesn’t prevent you from going and viewing or photographing the night time heavens
2nd March 2023
Venus and Jupiter in Conjunction
March starts astronomically on the Thursday the 2nd of March with Venus and Jupiter near each other, also known as conjunction
Although the Moon is several days away from a Full Moon, it may make things a bit more difficult
They can be spotted from around six to seven in the evening, located in the Pieces constellation, and will be visible for a couple of hours
The can be spotted with the naked eye, but a pair of binoculars or a telescope may help you get a better view
However with a telescope, you probably won’t be able to see both objects at the same time
7th March 2023
Full Moon
Tuesday the 7th of March means the occurrence of our enemy,the Full Moon
Also known as a Worm Moon. Probably named, due to the increase in earth worms as the ground thaws, and the number of worms
However after the occurrence of the Full Moon, the worms will maybe start to eat the Moon
20th March 2023
March Equinox
Monday the 20th of March, means the occurrence of the March Equinox
This means that both half's of the equator receive equal amount of light
This won’t provide any astronomical events, but may be of interest to some
21st March 2023
New Moon
Tuesday the 21st of March means the occurrence of the March New Moon
With the worms having finally devoured the Moon
The night sky will be clear of the Moons light, allowing you to view or photograph the night skies
